How much does a 3D print cost?

There is no flat price. Every quote depends on the size of the object, the material, the layer height and how much finishing you want. Print time is the biggest driver, so a tall or highly detailed piece costs more than a small flat one of the same weight. Resin and special filaments cost more than standard PLA, and hand sanding or painting adds labour on top. Send us the model or a description with the approximate size and we will reply with a quote. If you have a budget, say so: a lighter infill, a coarser layer height or a simpler finish often brings the price down without changing how the piece looks on a shelf.

How do I place an order?

Get in touch through the site and describe what you want to make. Attach a 3D file if you have one, or a link, photo or sketch if you do not. Tell us the size you need, the colour, whether the piece is decorative or functional, and when you need it. We reply with material advice, a price and a timeline. Once you confirm, we print, inspect the piece, send you photos and arrange pickup in Almaty or delivery. You do not need to know anything about 3D printing to order: describe the result you want and we will handle the technical choices.

What file format do you need from me?

STL is the universal format and works for almost everything. 3MF is even better because it can carry colour and unit information, and OBJ is fine for figurines and scanned objects. For engineering parts that must fit something, a STEP file is ideal because it keeps exact geometry and we can adjust dimensions without guessing. If you only have a link to a model on a library site, send the link and we will check the licence and download it. Please mention the real-world size you want, because a file does not always state its units and a model can be scaled up or down before printing.

Yes. Custom modelling is part of what we do. Send a sketch, a photo of a similar object, a description or the dimensions of the thing it must fit, and we will model it for you. Simple functional parts such as a bracket, a holder or a replacement knob are quick to model. Characters, ornaments and organic shapes take longer and go through a preview stage where you approve a render before anything is printed. Modelling time is quoted separately from printing, so you always know what you are paying for. If a ready-made model already exists in a public library, we will suggest it instead of modelling from scratch.

How long will my order take?

It depends on the size of the piece, the layer height, the finish and the current queue. A small item can print in a few hours, a large multi-part model can occupy a printer for several days, and sanding or painting adds working time on top. We give a delivery date with every quote and tell you as soon as possible if something changes. If you have a deadline such as a birthday or an event, mention it in your first message: a coarser layer height, a different material or splitting the model across printers can often shorten the timeline. Custom modelling and shipping outside Almaty add their own days.

Is there a minimum order? Can I order just one piece?

One piece is a perfectly normal order. 3D printing does not need moulds or tooling, so a single figurine, a single replacement part or a single gift costs only what it takes to print it. Small batches are welcome too: keychains for an event, awards for a tournament or a run of identical brackets. Larger quantities usually get a better price per piece because printing time can be planned more efficiently and setup is done once. Tell us the quantity you have in mind and we will quote both a single piece and the batch so you can compare.

What is the difference between FDM and resin printing, and which should I choose?

FDM printers melt a plastic filament and build the object layer by layer. They handle large objects, functional parts and a huge range of colours, and the prints are tough and affordable. Resin printers cure liquid photopolymer with light and produce much finer detail with almost invisible layers, which is why miniatures, jewellery masters and small figurines are printed in resin. Resin parts are smaller, more brittle and cost more per piece. A simple rule: choose FDM for anything larger than a fist or anything that has to do a job, and resin for small pieces where detail matters most. If you are unsure, describe the object and we will recommend one.

Which plastic should my print be made of: PLA, PETG or ABS?

For almost every decorative object the answer is PLA: it holds fine detail, comes in the widest range of colours and is the most affordable. Its weaknesses are heat and brittleness, so it is not the right choice for a car interior or a part that gets knocked around. PETG is tougher, handles moisture well and is the default for functional items such as brackets, containers and outdoor pieces. ABS and ASA resist higher temperatures and are chosen for specific mechanical or outdoor needs. You do not have to decide yourself: tell us what the object will do and where it will live, and we will pick the material.

What colours are available? Can a print have several colours or be painted?

Filament comes in a very wide range of solid colours plus special effects such as marble, silk, matte, wood-fill and glow-in-the-dark. A single-colour print is the simplest and cheapest option. Multi-colour printing lets a model be printed in several filaments at once, which suits logos, signs and models with clearly separated colour areas. For realistic shading, metallic effects or an exact brand colour, a print is primed and painted by hand, which costs more but gives the best result. Resin prints are usually printed in grey and painted afterwards. Send a reference image and we will suggest the most practical way to get that look.

Can you print flexible or soft items?

Yes. Flexible prints are made from TPU, a rubber-like filament that bends, stretches and returns to shape. It is used for phone cases, gaskets, protective bumpers, straps, squishy toys and vibration-damping feet. TPU comes in different hardness grades, from soft and squeezable to firm and rubbery, and we choose the grade to match the job. It prints more slowly than rigid plastics, so a flexible part takes longer and costs a little more than the same shape in PLA. Very thin walls and fine detail are harder in TPU, so if you need something both flexible and intricate, ask us early and we will advise on the design.

Can you print in metal?

We do not print in metal directly. Metal 3D printing requires industrial equipment and is priced accordingly, so it rarely makes sense for a single part. What we can offer instead: metal-filled filaments that contain real metal powder and can be polished to a bronze or steel look, painted finishes that imitate metal convincingly, and resin masters for jewellers and foundries who cast the final piece in metal themselves. For a functional part that truly needs to be metal, we can print a prototype so you can check the fit before it is machined or cast. Tell us what the part must do and we will suggest the realistic route.

How strong are 3D printed parts?

Strong enough for most everyday jobs, as long as the material and the print settings match the task. A printed hook, bracket, holder or replacement knob in PETG or ABS will typically do its job for years. Printed parts are weakest along the layer lines, so a part that will be bent or pulled is oriented and designed with that in mind, and wall thickness and infill are increased for load-bearing pieces. Decorative PLA prints can crack if dropped on a hard floor, while resin prints are more brittle still. If your part has to carry weight, sit in a hot place or survive impact, say so and we will design and print it for that.

Will the layer lines be visible? Can the print be completely smooth?

On an FDM print you can see and feel fine layer lines up close, especially on curved surfaces. At normal viewing distance they read as texture, and for most figurines, vases and functional parts they are not a problem. A finer layer height makes them less noticeable at the cost of longer print time. For a truly smooth surface the piece is sanded, filled and primed by hand, then painted or clear-coated; this is the finish for display pieces, cosplay props and anything that must look factory-made. Resin prints have almost invisible layers straight from the printer. Tell us how smooth the object needs to be and we will include the right finish in the quote.

How accurate is 3D printing? Will my part fit?

Well-tuned FDM printers hold dimensions to a few tenths of a millimetre on typical parts, and resin printers are finer still. That is accurate enough for lids, brackets, enclosures and parts that mate with existing objects, provided the model allows a small clearance between moving or fitting surfaces. Holes tend to print slightly undersized and materials shrink a little as they cool, so we compensate for that in the settings. For a part that must fit something precisely, send exact measurements or the original object, and for critical fits we can print a quick test piece first and adjust before the final print. Very large parts have proportionally larger tolerances.

How big can a 3D print be?

Every printer has a fixed build volume, but that is not the limit of what can be made. Objects larger than the build area are split into sections, printed separately and joined with glue, pins or built-in connectors, and the seams are hidden with filler and sanding. That is how full-size cosplay helmets, large signs, architectural models and tall lamps are made. Splitting adds assembly time and a small cost, and very large pieces need more material and longer printing, so the price grows with size. Tell us the final dimensions you need and we will say whether it prints in one piece or several and quote accordingly.

What do you check before sending my order, and what if something is wrong?

Every piece is inspected before it leaves the studio. We check dimensions against the model, look for layer defects, stringing, warping and support marks, test moving parts and assemblies, and confirm the colour and finish match what was agreed. Resin prints are fully washed and cured so they are safe to handle. We send you photos before dispatch so you can confirm the piece is what you expected. If something arrives damaged or does not match the agreed specification, contact us with photos and we will reprint or fix it. Colour differences between screens and real filament, and the natural texture of layer lines, are not defects but we are happy to discuss them beforehand.

Do you deliver outside Almaty, to other cities in Kazakhstan?

Yes. We deliver across Kazakhstan, including Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, Aktobe, Atyrau and smaller towns, by courier services and national post. In Almaty you can collect your order in person or have it delivered by courier. Delivery time and cost depend on the destination, the size of the parcel and the service you choose, and we include them in the quote so there are no surprises. Every parcel is tracked and packed to survive handling. Tell us your city in your first message and we will suggest the most sensible option for your order.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, on request. International delivery is not a standard checkout option, so mention your country in your first message and it will be included in the quote. From Kazakhstan there are two broad routes: postal services, which are cheaper but take roughly two to five weeks to Europe or North America, and express couriers, which take a few working days but cost more. The parcel is packed to a higher standard for international transit. Import duties and taxes, if your country charges them on parcels of this value, are paid by the recipient. We provide tracking and a customs description of the contents.

Will my print survive the courier?

It should, because packing is planned around the piece. Every item is wrapped individually in foam or bubble wrap, fragile protrusions such as swords, antlers and spires are supported with foam blocks or shipped detached with gluing instructions, and the wrapped item sits inside a rigid inner box that is cushioned on all sides within the outer box. Multi-part sets get a compartment per piece, and electronics for lamps and book nooks are packed separately. If a parcel still arrives damaged, photograph the box and the piece before throwing anything away and contact us: we will sort out a reprint or repair and a claim with the carrier.

How do I look after a 3D printed item?

Keep it away from heat and direct sun. PLA starts to soften around 55 to 60 degrees Celsius, so a closed car in summer, a windowsill above a radiator or a dishwasher will deform it. PETG, ABS and ASA tolerate more heat, and ASA is the one to choose for anything that lives outdoors. Clean with a soft cloth or a brush and lukewarm water with mild soap; avoid acetone and aggressive solvents, which attack most plastics. Painted pieces should not be scrubbed. Resin figurines are more brittle, so handle thin parts by the base. If a piece breaks, do not throw it away: many prints can be glued invisibly or a single part reprinted.

Can you print a model I downloaded, or a character from a game or film?

Usually yes for personal use. Most models on public libraries are shared under licences that allow printing for yourself, and we will check the licence when you send a link. Some designers sell models with commercial or merchant licences, and printing those for you is allowed only if the licence permits a print service; we ask you to purchase the file yourself in those cases. Characters and logos from games, films and brands are protected by copyright and trademark, so we can make a single piece for your own shelf but will not produce them for resale or as branded merchandise. If in doubt, send the link and we will tell you what is possible.

Are 3D printed items food safe?

With care, for limited contact. The plastic itself can be food-grade, but an FDM print has tiny grooves between layers where moisture and bacteria can collect, and printers use nozzles and hot ends that are not certified for food. So a printed item is fine for short dry contact, such as a cookie cutter used with dough, a stamp or a chocolate mould lined with foil, and is then washed by hand and dried. It is not suitable as a daily cup, plate or food-storage container, and it should not go in a dishwasher or microwave. Resin prints should not touch food at all. If you need food-safe use, tell us and we will advise on material and sealing.

Are 3D printed toys safe for children?

They can be, with the right material, design and finish. For toys we recommend PLA or PETG in plain colours, printed solid enough not to snap, with rounded edges and no small detachable parts for children under three. Supports are fully removed and contact points smoothed so there are no sharp bits. Resin prints are not recommended for small children because the material is brittle and should not be chewed. Painted toys should use non-toxic paints and be fully cured. No 3D printed toy carries formal toy-safety certification, so treat it as a handmade item: supervise young children and check it occasionally for cracks. Do you work with businesses, and can you produce small batches?

Yes. Cafés, shops, startups, architects, event organisers and engineers order from us regularly. Typical business jobs include branded keychains and merchandise, trophies and awards, menu holders and signage, prototypes for a product in development, replacement parts for equipment that is no longer made, and architectural models. 3D printing is well suited to runs from a handful to a few hundred pieces, where injection moulding would not justify the cost of a mould.
