3D Printing Across Kazakhstan: Delivery to Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda and Beyond
How to order 3D printed items from Almaty and receive them anywhere in Kazakhstan: courier options, timing, packaging and what to tell the studio.

You do not need a 3D printing studio on your street to get a custom print. Fantasy Lab 3D is based in Almaty, but a large share of orders go to Astana, Shymkent, Karaganda, Aktobe, Atyrau and smaller towns across the country. This guide explains how the remote ordering process works, how the parcel travels and how to make sure it arrives intact.
Ordering from another city is the same as ordering locally
The whole process happens online anyway. A customer in Pavlodar and a customer in Almaty both send a file or an idea, get a quote, approve it and receive photos of the finished piece before it ships. The only difference is the last step: a courier instead of a pickup.
What to include in your first message:
- The model file or a link, or a description if you need something designed.
- The size you want and the material or colour preference.
- Your city and whether you prefer door delivery or a pickup point.
- Any deadline, such as a birthday or an event date.
If you are new to the process, how to order a 3D print online walks through every step.
Delivery options inside Kazakhstan
Several national courier networks cover the country well, and the choice usually comes down to speed versus convenience:
| Option | Typical transit from Almaty | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| National courier to your door (Kazpost, DHL, CDEK and similar) | 2 to 5 days to major cities | Most orders, fragile pieces |
| Pickup point or parcel locker | 2 to 5 days | Small, sturdy items when you are rarely home |
| Express courier | 1 to 2 days to Astana and large cities | Urgent gifts and event deadlines |
| Intercity bus or train parcel services | 1 to 3 days on main routes | Large boxes, when arranged in advance |
Transit times are estimates and depend on the courier and the season. Remote regions add a few days. If the deadline is tight, tell us up front so the print can be prioritised and the fastest courier chosen.
Delivery cost is paid separately from printing and depends on the weight, size and service. Printed items are light, so it is usually modest, but a large multi-part model in a big box costs more to ship than a keychain.
Packing so it survives the road
Kazakhstan is a big country and a parcel from Almaty to Aktau covers a long distance. Every piece is packed as if it will be dropped, because at some point it probably will be:
- Delicate parts wrapped individually in foam or bubble wrap.
- Empty space filled so nothing can shift inside the box.
- Lamps, book nooks and figures with thin elements get a rigid inner box inside the outer one.
- Multi-part models are shipped either assembled and braced or as keyed parts with instructions, depending on which travels safer.
The detailed method is in how we pack fragile prints. Before the box is sealed, you receive photos of the finished item, so you know exactly what is inside.
Payment and tracking
For remote orders, the usual flow is a deposit to start the print, with the balance paid after you approve the photos and before shipping. Once the parcel is handed to the courier you get a tracking number, and most services send SMS updates as it moves.
If something does arrive damaged, take photos of the box and the item as soon as you open it and send them over. Prints can be repaired or reprinted, and we will sort it out with you directly rather than sending you to a courier hotline.
What people in other cities order most
The remote orders are not very different from the local ones. Personalised gifts lead: lithophane moon lamps with a family photo, name signs, book nooks for a reader who has everything. Cosplayers in Astana and Karaganda order helmets and armour pieces ahead of conventions. Small businesses in Shymkent and Atyrau order signage, menu holders and branded keychains. Engineers and students send functional parts and diploma models. If you are shopping for a present, unique gifts in Almaty is a good starting list, and every item on it ships.
Beyond Kazakhstan
Fantasy Lab 3D also ships internationally on request, to the rest of the CIS and further. Customs, timing and packaging for international parcels are covered in shipping 3D prints worldwide.
