3D Printed Phone Stands, Headphone Hooks and Cable Holders

The small plastic things on your desk are usually the worst-designed. The phone stand wobbles, the headphones hang off a monitor corner, and the charging cable slides behind the table every single evening. 3D printing fixes this in the most direct way possible: each holder is made for your phone, your headphones and your desk edge, not for an average of everyone's. Phone stands that match your phone

A generic stand has to accept every phone, so it accepts none of them well. A printed stand can be designed around a specific device and how you use it:

• Angle set for video calls, reading recipes or watching a series in bed
• Cut-out for the charging cable so the phone charges while docked
• Width sized to your phone with its case on
• Landscape and portrait positions in the same stand
• A soft TPU lip or pad so the case never scratches
• Foldable travel versions that print in one piece with a working hinge

Weight matters: a stand for a large phone needs a wide base and either heavy infill or a slot for a coin or steel washer at the back to prevent tipping. We handle that in the design stage.

Headphone hooks and stands

Headphones are the most common item people ask us to hang. There are three families of design:

Cable holders and clips

Cable management is where small printed parts really earn their place. Popular items:

• Edge clips that hold one to five cables at the back of the desk
• Weighted cable "anchors" so a charging cable does not fall when unplugged
• Adhesive wall clips for lamps and routers
• Cable combs that keep a bundle neat behind a PC
• Winders for earphones and travel chargers
• Under-desk trays for power strips

Because the slot width is set to your specific cable diameter (a thin USB-C lead is around 3 mm, a laptop charger closer to 5 or 6 mm), the cable stays put but slides freely when you pull it.

Charging docks and multi-device stations

If you charge a phone, earbuds and a watch every night, a printed dock can hold all three in one tidy block, with the cables routed inside and only the connectors exposed. Provide the exact device models and the chargers you use, and the dock is modelled around them. This kind of custom object is the sort of thing you cannot buy off the shelf but is easy to print.

Choosing the material

• PLA: the default for stands and hooks that stay indoors. Rigid, precise and available in the widest range of colours.
• PETG: better for hooks carrying weight over time and for anything near a sunny window, because it resists creeping and heat. See PLA vs PETG vs ABS.

Matte black or grey blends into most desks; white and pastel colours suit lighter setups; a marble or wood-fill finish gives a stand some character.

How to order a holder that fits

Measurements are the whole game. For most items we need only two or three numbers:

1. Phone stand: phone width and thickness with the case on, plus the cable connector width.
2. Headphone hook: desk thickness for clips, or where you want it mounted, and roughly how heavy the headphones are.
3. Cable clip: cable diameter and how many cables it should hold.
