3D Printed Accessories for Musicians: Picks, Stands and Pedal Boards

Musicians live with a hundred small plastic parts: picks, knobs, clips, holders, the foot that fell off a stand three gigs ago. Most are cheap to buy and impossible to find in the right size. 3D printing makes them to fit your instrument, your pedals and your rig. Here is what we print for players, teachers and studios.

Picks, pick holders and small player gear

  • Guitar picks in custom shapes and thicknesses, printed in resin for smoothness or in PETG for a warmer attack. Not a replacement for a favourite brand, but great as personalised gifts with a name or logo.
  • Pick holders that stick to the headstock, the mic stand or the strap.
  • Capo and slide holders for the stand or the case.
  • Finger and thumb picks sized to your fingers.
  • String winders, bridge pin pullers, tuner clips for the gig bag.

Stands, hangers and mounts

Wall hangers and stands carry real weight, so they are modelled with the width of your neck or the diameter of your instrument in mind.

  • Wall hangers for guitars, ukuleles, violins and headphones, padded with a TPU lining so the finish is not scratched.
  • Desk stands for a small keyboard, a controller or a tablet with sheet music.
  • Microphone clips and adapters between thread standards (3/8" and 5/8"), and holders for handheld recorders.
  • Phone and tablet mounts for the mic stand, so lyrics and backing tracks stay in view.
  • Bow holders, rosin boxes and shoulder rest parts for string players.

Heavy instruments should hang on PETG or ASA hangers with metal screws into a wall stud, not on PLA, which creeps under sustained load. See how strong are 3D printed parts, really? for what to expect from printed load-bearing parts.

Pedal board parts

A pedal board is where 3D printing shines because every board is different.

PartWhat it does
Risers and tiersLift the back row so switches are reachable
Pedal spacersFill odd gaps and keep pedals square
Cable clips and combsRoute patch cables neatly under the board
Power supply bracketsMount the PSU under or beside the board
Custom pedal enclosuresHouse DIY pedals, with cutouts for jacks and switches
Footswitch toppersLarger, grippier caps for stomp switches

We can also print a whole small pedal board with a slanted deck and Velcro surface, sized to the pedals you own.

Replacement parts for instruments and gear

The most common order is a part that broke: a knob on a synth, a battery cover on a wireless pack, a latch on a flight case, a music stand clip, a bumper on a keyboard stand, a cover for a drum trigger. Send a photo with a ruler or the broken part itself and we model a copy. This is the same process as replacement parts with 3D printing.

Knobs deserve a note: they can match a vintage style, add a pointer line or a number scale, and be printed in resin for sharp edges. Fantasy Lab 3D checks the shaft type (D-shaft, splined, smooth with grub screw) before printing.

Studios, schools and teachers

Music schools order sets of identical parts: rhythm training tools, picks with the school logo, labelled pick holders for each student, mic clips for every room. Batches of identical items print efficiently, as explained in small-batch manufacturing. Awards for recitals and competitions are another popular request.

Materials at a glance

  • PETG for hangers, brackets, pedal parts and anything under load.
  • TPU for padding, pedal feet, strap locks and cable ties.
  • Resin for picks, knobs, small emblems and decorative pieces.
  • PLA for desk stands, organisers and display items indoors.

The price depends on size, material and finish, so send a photo and a measurement and request a quote.
